Hello.
Nihao? In this entry I will reveal the uniqueness of China Town in Terengganu.
China Town or formerly known as Kampung Cina is placed along Jalan Bandar in
Kuala Terengganu city centre at the river mouth of Terengganu River that
empties into the South China Sea. It is one of Southeast Asia’s early Chinese
settlements and contains stately ancestral homes, temples, townhouses, and
business establishments. The little town consist of many colourful shop houses
along both sides of the road that can catch your eyes.
Apart
of that, the mural at every wall can also be a perfect background for your
selfie. Many walls and alleyways have been transformed with street art giving a
new modern look to the town. Despite of that, the government still keep the
traditional feel with small stores, cafes and restaurants that is suitable not
only for Chinese but all races in Terengganu.

Before
I forgot, the unique about this town is not only the street arts, but also the
buildings in the town. Some of them are even more than 100 years old, of
Pre-World War II colonial designs and are regarded as heritage attractions for
local or foreign tourists. Two very old Chinese temples, namely Ho Ann Kiong
(1801) and Tien Hok Kong (1896) have been recognised by UNICEF as Heritage Attractions.
The local born Chinese not only well joined with the Malay community but also
can speak local dialects fluently.
