Hi peeps! Does any of you love fishing? If you do, Kenyir Lake is a perfect place for your vacation. I am extremely recommend you to visit the biggest man-made lake in South Asia, Kenyir Lake. Apart of being the main dam for Terengganu Sultan Mahmud Hydroelectric Power Plant, Lake Kenyir is also home to numerous species of freshwater fishes and exotic wildlife. With a water catchment area of 38,000 hectares, the lake is naturally a heaven for freshwater fish.

What were once streams, mountain tops and highlands, the construction of the dam, the water level has risen, creating about 340 islands, 14 waterfalls and numerous rapids. The existence of dead trees around the lake serves as a perfect breeding ground for many kind of fishes. Study has shown that Big Carp River (barboides), Miller (Malayan mahseer or tambroides), Toman (snakehead), Friends (Friendly Barb), Kalui (Giant Gouramy) and Arowana (green arowana) and are found in waters around dead trees, Apart of being heaven for numerous kind of fish, it is also the home for many endangered and exotic wildlife.
